"Edith" is a portrait of Titanic survivor Edith Russell (Rosenbaum).  She was saved, along with her lucky mascot, when put into lifeboat 11.  Her story is quite remarkable and you can learn more about her by scanning a QR Code hidden within the painting.

I've chosen a soft muted palette for this piece which is built up over many layers of collage and paint to give an impression of erosion and age.  The gentle colours of this piece would suit an array of rooms within a home, adding a central focus and an element of fun for any guests by seeing if they too can find the hidden code.
