This piece is a tribute to Wallace Hartley, the bandleader aboard the RMS Titanic. Hartley famously continued to play music with his band as the ship sank, providing comfort to the passengers during their final moments. The violin is one of the most iconic artifacts from the Titanic disaster, and it provides a personal connection to the events of that fateful night.
